Rod Seals

A rod seal is generally the most critical seal in a hydraulic cylinder as the seal prevents leakage of fluids to the environment.

It acts as a dynamic seal along its inner diameter
It acts as a static seal along its outer diameter
It is directly affected by changes on the rod surface, fluid temperature
and pressure variations or spikes in the system

U-Cups derive their name from their "U" shape. They seal on both the inside outside diameters. U Cup seals are popular due to the small gland space they require.
Loaded U-Cup

Loaded U-Cups derive their name from their "U" shape and the elastomeric energizer they use to provide more effective low pressure sealing.

Premium Loaded U-Cups use 2 integrated seals to provide more effective sealing.
